As many of you may have heard, there is a new redistricting proposal by the school board that, among many sweeping changes, proposes to close Medlock Elementary School. This is a major question of concern for our neighborhood. Neighborhood members, Medlock PTA and MANA (Medlock Neighborhood Association) have met to discuss the impacts of this proposal. As a good neighbor we need to be aware of the proposals and voice our own concerns and opinions at meetings and via letters and calls. You may visit this link for ways to respond. Included is a suggested form letter from the PTA at Medlock, phone numbers of school board members, and suggested actions for those interested in making their voice heard. We will also do what we can to provide meeting space and support for our neighborhood as it makes important decisions regarding how to respond to this proposed decision. You are welcome to contact Marcia Oates, Bob Peterman, or Matt Rich for more information and ideas for how you can help the conversation.
